نکير nakīr A s. m. Name of an angel. See منکر.

نرچا nirchā H s. m. A kind of greens. (Cor- chorus capsularis).

نردهن निर्धन nir-dhan S adj. Void of wealth, poor.

نفاط nafāt̤ A (from نفط) s. m. 1. Naphtha, bitu- men, or a place where it is found in plenty. 2. Lamp-oil.

ناک nāk नासिका S̱. s. f. The nose. ناک چڙهانا nāk chaṛhānā, To be angry or displeased. ناک رکهنا nāk rakhnā, To preserve oneʼs ho- nour. ناک سکوڙنا nāk sakoṛnā, To turn up oneʼs nose, to be displeased. ناک کا بال nāk kā bāl, adj. (dakh. met.) Respected, honoured: see عزيز aﻌzīz. ناک کٿانا nāk kaṭānā, To dis- honour. ناک کٿي هوني nāk kaṭī honī, To lose oneʼs honour.

ناز naz P s. m. 1. Blandishments, coquetry, play- fulness, gracefulness, elegance, soothing, fond- ling, amorous playfulness, softness. 2. Pride, consequential airs. ناز اٿهاتا nāz uṭhānā, To bear with the airs or whims of another. ناز بردار nāz-bardār, One who bears the whims of another, a flatterer. ناز برداري nāz-bardār-ī, s. f. Flattery. ناز پرور nāz-parwar or ناز پرورده nāz-parwarda, Delicately brought up; a spoiled child. ناز پيشگي nāz-pesha-gī, s. f. The habit of coquetry, &c. ناز پيشه nāz-pesha, One who practises blandishments, a coquette. ناز نخرا nāz-naḵẖrā, s. m. Coquetry, dalliance. نازو نياز nāz-o-niyāz, Blandishment, toying.

ناصر nāṣir A (part. act. of نصر Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. A defender, assistant, helper.

نتهني nath-nī नाथ S̱. s. f. 1. A small ring worn in the nose. 2. A ring inserted in the hilt of a sword.

نوشادر naushādar S̱. s. m. Sal ammoniac. See نوسادر nausādar.
