نحر naḥr A s. Cutting the throat, slaughtering. يوم النحر yaumu-n-naḥr (Day of sacrifice) the tenth of the month ẕī ḥijja.

نٿبر naṭ-bar नटवर S̱. s. m. A juggler, &c. See نٿ naṭ.

نانک nānak H n. prop. Name of a faḳīr, founder of the sect of Sikhs. نانک پنتهي يا شاهي يا نانک متا nānak-panthī, or shāhī, or nānak- matā, s. m. A Sikh, or follower of Nānak.

نہتها ni-hatthā S̱. (नि for निर् prep. and हस्त Hand) adj. Unarmed.

نضارت naẓārat A (from نضر Heb. ) s. f. Freshness, verdure, beauty, pleasingness, lustre, brightness, floridness.

نسر nasr A (Heb. ) s. m. A vulture. نسرالطاير nasru-t̤-t̤āʼịr or نسرطاٴير nasr-i-t̤āʼịr (The flying vulture) The constellation of the eagle. نسرالواقع nasru-l-wāḳiﻌ (The falling vulture) The constel- lation of the lyre.

نربدهي निर्बुद्धि nir-buddhi S adj. Void of un- derstanding, senseless, irrational.

ناموس nāmūs A (from نمس) s. f. m. 1. Reputa- tion, fame, renown. 2. Disgrace. 3. The fe- male part of a family. ناموس اکبر nāmūs-i-akbar, The angel Gabriel.

نفخ nafḵẖ A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. Blowing (with the mouth), sounding (a horn, &c.). 2. In- spiring, breathing into, inflation. 3. Swelling.

نج निज nij S adj. Own, particular, individual, personal. نج کا nij kā, adj. Own, peculiar. نج تج سي nij tij se, Properly, as is requisite.
