ف fe in Arabic fā, the twentieth letter of the Arabic and twenty-third of the Persian alphabet,

فاتحه fātiḥa A (from فتح) 1. s. m. Commence- ment, exordium. 2. s. f. The first chapter or سوره of the ḳurʼān, which being repeated when praying for the souls of the dead, the word comes to mean prayers offered up in the name of saints, &c. and vulgarly oblations made to saints, &c.

فاخر fāḵẖir A (part. act. of فخر) 1. adj. Excellent, precious, sumptuous, valuable: (fem. فاخره). 2. s. m. A boaster, an egotist.

Con- tented. فارغ البال fārig̠ẖu-l-bāl, or فارغ الحال fārig̠ẖu-l-ḥāl, adj. Independent, contented, at ease. فارغ خطي fārig̠ẖ-ḵẖat̤t̤-ī, s. f. A deed of release or discharge, quittance. فارغ هونا fārig̠ẖ honā, To cease on finishing (from).
