قرابت ḳarābat A (from قرب) s. f. Kin, vicinity, relationship, affinity, propinquity, alliance.

قـﮩر ḳahr A s. m. Force, severity, chastisement, rage, fury, indignation, vengeance, judgment, calamity. قـﮩر قيامت ḳahr-ḳiyāmat, Great dis- turbance or commotion (is applied both in pane- gyrick and satire).

قوم ḳaum A s. f. Tribe, sect, cast, a people, na- tion, family. قوم و خويش ḳaum-o-ḵẖẉesh, plur. m. Friends and relations.

قاق ḳāḳ A adj. 1. Dry, lean, thin, feeble, gaunt. 2. Disproportionately tall.

قطمير ḳit̤mīr A s. m. 1. The thin pellicle on a date stone. 2. Name of the dog which ac- companied the seven sleepers. نقيروقطمير na- ḳīr o ḳit̤mīr, adv. Minutely, exactly, to the point.

قاز ḳāz T s. m. A goose or duck.

قافله ḳāfila A (from Chald. and Syr. To roll, fold, compress; q. d. a compact multitude) s. m. A body of travellers, a caravan. (Hence قفل To return from a journey: Willmet). قافله سالار ḳāfila-sālār, The leader, or chief of a ca- ravan. قافله باشي ḳāfila-bāshī, s. f. The chief- tainship of a caravan.

قصه ḳiṣṣa A (from قصّ) s. m. 1. A tale, a story, narration. (Plur. قصص ḳiṣaṣ). 2. (met. in Hind.) A quarrel, a dispute. قصه خوان ḳiṣṣa- ḵẖẉān, A storyteller. قصه کوتاه ḳiṣṣa kotāh, In short, in one word. قصه کوتاه کرنا ḳiṣṣa kotāh karnā, To settle a dispute. قصه مختصر ḳiṣṣa muḵẖtaṣar, In short.

قلعي ḳalaʼīﻌ A s. f. Tin. قلعي کشته ḳalaʼīﻌ-i-kushta, Calx of tin, putty. قلعي کهـلنا ḳalaʼīﻌ khulnā. The removing of the disguise (of any one) so that his real qualities appear. قلعي گر ḳalaʼīﻌ- gar, A tinner of pots. قلعي گري ḳalaʼīﻌ-gar-ī s. f. The business of tinning pots.

قصدا ḳaṣdaṉ A adv. Voluntarily, intentionally, purposely, expressly.
