قماش ḳumāsh A (vulg. ḳimāsh) s. m. 1. Breeding, manners. 2. Trifles. 3. Goods, furniture of every kind. 4. Close or thick texture (in cloth, paper, &c.), texture, any thing heaped or collected together. ¶ ḳimāsh, Name of a suit at cards: see under تاج tāj.

Lighting or getting fire from another, striking or asking fire. 2. Learning, teaching. 3. ¶ ḳabas, A firebrand, a match, any thing for kindling fire with. 4. ¶ kabis (perhaps for قبص ḳabiṣ) adj. Quick, expeditious.

قيل ḳīl A (from قول Heb. ) s. m. A word, speech, saying. قيل وقال ḳīl-o-ḳāl, s. f. Con- versation, confabulation, controversy, altercation, babble, clack.

قرناٴي ḳarnāʼī A or ḳarnāʼe (Chald. from قرن Heb. and Chald. To be horned, to radiate) s. f. A trumpet, a horn (musical), a bugle, a clarion, cornet.

قراقر ḳarāḳar A (from قرقر) Grumbling of the bowels, Borborygmi.

قدسي ḳuds-ī A 1. adj. Holy. 2. s. m. The angel Gabriel.

قرباني ḳurbān-ī A. 1. adj. Devoted, sacrificed. 2. s. See قربان ḳurbān.

قلاش ḳallāsh T adj. 1. Shrewd, malicious. 2. Wretched, friendless, cun- ning. 3. Addicted to drinking, a drunkard.

قصد ḳaṣd A s. m. Intention, design, aim, object, desire, wish, inclination, purpose, project, at- tempt, conspiracy. قصد کرنا ḳaṣd karnā, To design, intend, project, propose to oneʼs self,

قابله ḳābila A s. f. A midwife.
