ارشاد irshād A (inf. iv. of رشد) s. m. Direction, command, order.

شاد shād P adj. Pleased, delighted, glad, cheer- ful, exulting. شاد خوار shād-ḵẖẉār, 1. adj. Voluptuous. 2. s. f. An adultress, a strumpet. شاد دل shād-dil, adj. Cheerful, delighted, hap- py. شاد کام shād-kām, adj. Joyous, happy, contented. شاد کامي shād-kām-ī, s. f. Gladness, happiness, delight, content. شاد کرنا shād karnā, v. a. شاداب shādāb P adj. Fresh, verdant, moist, pleasant, agreeable, succulent. s. Fresh her- bage.

شادابي shādāb-ī P s. f. Freshness, verdure, moisture, succulence.

شادي shād-ī P s. f. 1. Pleasure, delight, joy. 2. Marriage, festivity, rejoicing. شادي مرگ shā- dī-marg, 1. s. f. An easy death, death from joy. 2. adj. Dying easily or from joy. شادي کرني shādī karnī, To feast. شاديان گنانا shadiyāṅ ginānā (dakh.) To make merry.

شاديانه shādiyāna P adj. Relating to marriage or rejoicings; s. m. Musick and singing at marriages or on other festive occasions. شاديانه بجانا shādiyāna bajānā, To triumph.

شمشاد shamshād P s. m. 1. The box-tree. (Me- ninski). 2. (met.) applied to the form of a mistress.

نوشاد naushād P n. prop. Name of a city famous for beautiful damsels.
