شنقار shunḳār P s. A black-eyed sort of falcon, used by kings in hunting.

شتا shitā A (Heb. ; plur. of شتوة or sing. from شتو To pass the winter in any place. Willmett derives it from شتّ To scatter, from the scattering of rain, snow, &c. in winter. Sans. शीत) s. m. Winter.

شرع sharﻌ A s. m. 1. The precepts of Muḥammad, law, equity. 2. A high road.

شعر shiﻌr A s. m. Poetry, verse. شعرخواني shiﻌr-ḵẖẉānī, s. f. Reading or studying poetry.

شرعي shar-īﻌ A adj. 1. Conformable to the sharﻌ, lawful, religious. 2. (met.) s. f. Tight drawers.

شکاري shikār-ī P 1. adj. Of the chase, of prey, relating to hunting, &c. 2. s. m. A fowler, hunter, sportsman.
