شافع shāfiﻌ A part. act. (of شفع Chald. To overflow, to flow out or into, to influence) De- precating, interceding; (substantively) an in- tercessor, advocate, patron.

شبد शब्द shabd S s. m. Sound, word, voice. شروع shurūﻌ A (from شرع) s. m. f. Beginning, commencement. (Plur. شروعات Beginnings). شروع کرنا shurūﻌ ḳarnā, To commence, to begin. شروع هونا shurūﻌ honā, To be begun or com- menced.

شعبده shuﻌbada P (improp. shaﻌbada) s. m. Sleight of hand, conjuration. سعبده باز shuﻌba- da-bāz, s. m. A juggler, a conjurer. شعبده بازي shuﻌbada-bāz-ī, s. f. Conjuration, sleight of hand, juggling, hocus-pocus.

شقيقه shaḳīḳa A (from شقّ) s. m. Temple of the head.

شامخ shāmiḵẖ A part. act. (from شمخ) 1. High, elevated. 2. Proud.
