وفا wafā A (from وفي) s. f. Performing a promise, observation of faith, fulfilment, sincerity, fidelity, sufficiency. وفا بيگانه wafā-begāna, Faithless. وفا پرست wafā-parast, Faithful, sincere. وفا پيشگي wafā-pesha-gī, s. f. Fidelity, the ob- servance of good faith. وفا پيشه wafā-pesha, adj. Faithful, practising good faith. وفا دار wafā-dār, Faithful, sincere, constant. وفا داري wafā-dār-ī, s. f. Faithfulness, constancy, sin- cerity. وفا کرنا wafā-karnā, To suffice, to per- form (a promise). وفا کيش wafā-kesh, Faithful.

وارا wārā H s. m. 1. Cheapness, thrift; benefit, gain, lucre (Harris). 2. (from وارنا) A victim.

وينچهنا wainchhnā S̱. (Sans. विछेद Cutting, se- paration) v. a. To skin.

وتسل वत्सल vatsal S adj. Affectionate, kind.

واقع wāḳiﻌ A part. act. (of وقع Heb. ) Be- falling, happening, occurring, arriving, appearing; situate. Plur. واقعات wāḳiʼāﻌt, s. f. Ac- cidents, events, occurrences, intelligence. واقع مين wāḳiﻌ meṅ, In fact, really.

واقي wāḳe A. s. (dakh.) for واقعي sing. inflect. or plur. of واقعه wāḳiʼaﻌ, q. v.

ويسا waisā H adv. or adj. In that manner, so, that-like, such. ويسي کا ويسا waise kā waisā, Such as before.

وداد wadād A s. m. Love, friendship.

وقت waḳt A s. m. Time, season, opportunity. (met.) Adversity. Plur. اوقات auḳāt, s. f. Times, &c. وقت بوقت waḳt ba-waḳt, From time to time. وقت بيوقت waḳt be-waḳt, In season or out of season, a time that admits not of delay, constantly, perpetually. وقت پر waḳt par, At (proper) time, seasonably, betimes. وقت پڙنا waḳt paṛnā, To suffer misfortunes, to be distressed. وقت کاٿنا waḳt kāṭnā, To pass away the time. وقت کي وقت waḳt ke waḳt, At all times. وقت نازک waḳt-i-nāzuk, Deli- cate times. وقت نا وقت waḳt nā waḳt, Occa- sionally, without any stated time. وقت ياب waḳt-yāb, Finding an opportunity.

وجاهت wajāhat A (from وجه) s. f. Respect, re- spectability, appearance, aspect, position.
