فليته falīta A. (corrupt. from فتيله) s. m. 1. Match, torch, wick, fusee. 2. A wick com- posed of paper inscribed with mystick words, by inhaling the smoke of which demons are said to be expelled from those possessed. 3. A cord of twisted thread sewed between the two folds of the hem of a garment to strengthen it. فليته دار falīta-dār, 1. A matchlock. 2. Any thing that has a match or wick. 3. Cloth hemmed with a cord (فليته falīta, q. v.).
