فرمايش farmāʼịsh P (from فرمودن) s. f. An order (particularly for goods, &c.), commission, any thing commissioned, pleasure, will, commands.

فاقه fāḳa A (from فوق Heb. ) s. m. 1. Po- verty, necessity, want. 2. (Pers. and in Hindī) A fast, fasting (from want, not as a religious duty). فاقه کرنا fāḳa karnā, To fast. فاقه کش fāḳa-kash, One who fasts, a faster, famished. فاقه کشي fāḳa-kash-ī, s. f. Fasting, endurance of hunger. فاقه کهـينچنا fāḳa khainchnā, or فاقون مرنا fāḳoṅ marnā, v. n. To starve, to be famished, to die with hunger. فاقه مست fāḳa- mast, One who is starving but conceals his distress.

فراز farāz P 1. s. m. Ascent, acclivity. 2. adj. High, aloft. 3. Exalted, exalting, elevating.

فتيله fatīla A (from فتل Heb. To twist a rope) s. m. 1. A match, a wick. فتيله سوز fatīla-soz, s. m. A candlestick.

فيصله faiṣala A (from فصل) s. m. A decree, set- tlement, decision, adjudication, adjustment.

فزا fazā P or fizā, part. in compos. (from فزودن) Increasing. See افزا afzā.

فدا fidā A (Heb. To redeem) s. f. Sacrifice, consecration, redemption, devoting oneʼs self to save another, ransom, exchange, cartel. فداکرنا fidā karnā, To devote, to sacrifice. A. P. فدائي fidā-ī, s. One who willingly hazards life in an act or for any one; a lover, thief, murderer.

فالوده fālūda P. (or pālūda) 1. adj. Smooth, clear. 2. s. m. A kind of flummery.

فارغ fārig̠ẖ A (part. act. of فرغ) adj. 1. Free, disengaged, at leisure, ceasing from labour on finishing it. 2. Absolved, discharged. 3. Con- tented. فارغ البال fārig̠ẖu-l-bāl, or فارغ الحال fārig̠ẖu-l-ḥāl, adj. Independent, contented, at ease. فارغ خطي fārig̠ẖ-ḵẖat̤t̤-ī, s. f. A deed of release or discharge, quittance. فارغ هونا fārig̠ẖ honā, To cease on finishing (from).
