بيت المقدس baitu-l-muḳaddas A (Heb. ) s. (The holy house) The temple of Jerusalem.

تقدس taḳaddasa A (3d pers. sing. past tense of v. conjug. from قدس used adjectively) Pure, holy, purified. تقدس تعاليٰٰ taḳaddasa taʼāﻌlạ̄ (an epithet of the deity) Holy most high.

تقدس taḳaddus A (inf. v. of قدس) s. m. Purity, sanctity, holiness.

تقدم taḳaddum A (inf. v. of قدم) s. m. Priority.

فرقدان farḳadān A s. m. Two stars near the pole, the greater and lesser bears.

قد ḳadd A s. m. Stature. قد آور ḳadd-āwar, adj. Tall. قد خم کرنا ḳadd ḵẖam karnā, v. a. To bow down. قد خميده ḳadd-ḵẖamīda, Bent in stature. قد دار ḳadd-dār, Of fine stature. قد کش ḳadd-kash or قد کشيده ḳadd-kashīda, adj. Tall and straight of stature. قد کشي ḳadd- kash-ī, s. f. Talness and straightness of stature. قد و قامت ḳadd-o-ḳāmat, s. m. Stature, figure (of a person).

قدامت ḳadāmat A (vulg. ḳidāmat, from قدم) s. f. Priority, seniority, ancientness; excellence, worthiness.

قدح ḳadaḥ A s. m. 1. A goblet, glass, bowl, cup. 2. A satire or lampoon.

قدر ḳadr A or ḳadar, s. f. 1. Worth, value, price, importance, dignity. 2. Quantity, size, magni- tude, bulk, measure; degree. 3. Destiny, fate.

قدغن ḳadag̠ẖan P s. f. Injunction, prohibition. قدغن کرنا ḳadag̠ẖan karnā, To enjoin, to prohibit.

قدم ḳadam A (Heb. and Ch. To go before) s. m. 1. A pace, a step, a footstep. 2. The foot, the sole of the foot. 3. The going before, merit. قدم باز ḳadam-bāz, Fleet. قدم بقدم ḳadam-ba-ḳadam, Step by step, gently, by de- grees. قدم بوس ḳadam-bos, 1. adj. Kissing the feet, shewing respect, paying respects. 2. s. or قد مبوسي ḳadam-bos-ī, s. f. Kissing the feet, obeisance, respects. قدم چومنا ḳadam chūmnā, 1. To kiss the feet. 2.
