هچکا hachkā H s. m. A jolt, shock.

هيہات haihāt A (from هيه) interj. Alas! alacka- day! begone! bewailing, lamentation.

هپ hap H s. m. Act of suddenly snatching with the mouth and swallowing. هپ جهپ hap jhap, adj. Quick. هپ جهپ کهانا hap jhap khānā, To eat quickly and voraciously.

هٿانا haṭānā H (causal of هٿنا) v. a. To repel, drive backwards, to back, to worst, to foil.

هارا hārā H (in compos.) denotes the performer of any act, dealer in any article. It is often represented in English by the word man, or the termination er; as لکڙهارا lakaṛ-hārā, A wood- man. مارني هارا mārne-hārā, A striker.

هلکاٴي halkā-ī H s. f. Lightness, levity.

هنکاٿا haṅkāṭā H s. (dakh. i. q. نعره) Cry, shout, noise.

هونس hauṅs H or hoṅs (from Arab. هوس) s. f. De- sire, wish, want, ambition, lust: see هوس hawas. هونس کرنا hauṅs karnā, To desire.
