هڙنگا haṛangā H s. (dakh.) See خرابي ḵẖarāb-ī.

هدي hudạ̄ A (Heb. ) s. m. Pointing out the right way, guidance in the right way. ¶ hadī, s. f. 1. Cattle carried to Mecca to be sacrificed. 2. Giving as an offering. 3. A bride. 4. A captive.

هما hummā H s. m. The sudden influx of the tide at new and full moon, commonly called the bān. (Beng.).

هڙبهڙانا haṛbhaṛānā H v. n. (dakh.) To hurry.

هونٿهي honṭh-ī S̱. s. m. The bit of a bridle.

هزبر hizabr A or hizbar, s. m. A lion. adj. Thick, great, strong.

هدا hudā A s. For هدي hudạ̄, q. v.

هتهوڙي hath-auṛī S̱. s. f. A small hammer.

هار hār H (in compos.) means the performer of any act, and corresponds frequently to the English terminations er or ing; as, بہارآٴي نه ديکهن هارآيا انارآيا نه چاکهن هارآيا Bahār āʼī na dekhan-hār āyā; anār āyā, na chākhan-hār āyā. The spring is arrived, but no one is come to behold it; the pomegranates are ready, but there is no one to taste them. P. S. هار hār, 1. s. m. (s. हार) A necklace of pearls, &c. a wreath, a chaplet (of flowers, worn as a necklace). 2. (for हारि) A flock (of cattle). 3. Pasturage. 4. s. f. Loss, for- feiture, discomfiture. 5. part. act. (from هارنا) Being overcome. هارماننا يا مان لينا hār-mānnā, or -mān lenā, To give up a dispute, to give up in despair, to acknowledge all lost. هارجيت hār jīt, Gambling, hazard. هار جيت کرنا hār jīt karnā, To gamble.
