نيکو neko P (in Hind. nīko) adj. Good, beauti- ful, elegant; well. نيکوخدمتي nīko-ḵẖidmat-ī, Goodness of ser- vice. نيکوکار neko-kār, Of good actions, a be- neficent person, benefactor. نيکوکاري neko- kār-ī, s. f. Beneficence, doing good.

نصيب naṣīb A (from نصب Heb. and Aram. ) s. m. Fortune, lot, luck, chance, portion, part, fate, destiny. (In Hindūstānī this word is often constructed as a plural). نصيب لڙني na- ṣīb laṛne, 1. To be competitor for any thing. 2. (lit. fortune fighting for one) The commence- ment of prosperity, to be greatly favoured by fortune (after adversity). نصيب جگنا naṣīb jagnā, To be fortunate.

نر निर् nir S prep. Out, without (on the out- side), without (not having). The reverse of नि. As, निर्गंध nir-gandh, Scentless.

نبي nabī A (Heb. ) s. m. A prophet.

نک nak S̱. 1. in compos. (for ناک nāk, q. v.) Nose; as, نک گهسني nak-ghisnī, s. Rubbing the nose on the ground in prostration, or by way of humiliation. 2. s. (dakh.) Nail: see نکهـ nakh.

ناک नाक nāk S s. m. The heavens.

نٿهڙتا niṭhuṛ-tā S̱. (निष्ठुरता) s. f. Cruelty, obduracy.

ننداس nindās S̱. (from निद्रा Sleep, and आशा Desire) s. f. Drowsiness.

نگاهبان nigāh-bān P s. m. A guard, a keeper, observer.

نزاکت nazākat P. (from Pers. نازک nāzuk) s. f. Delicacy, delicateness, elegance, politeness, neatness, softness.
