ناقد nāḳid A (part. act. of نقد Heb. ) s. m. A person whose business it is to examine coin and ascertain its goodness, an assayer. P. A. ناقدري nāḳadr-ī, adj. (dakh. for ناقدردان) Not knowing worth, disregarder of merit.

نحوي naḥwī A (from نحو) adj. Grammatical.

نوبت naubat A (from نوب Heb. and Aram. ) s. f. 1. A period, time, turn; access (of fever, &c.) fit. 2. Relieving guard, keeping watch. 3. An accident. 4. Opportunity, occasion, vi- cissitude, degree, pitch, weight. 5. Instruments of musick sounding at the gate of a great man at certain intervals. نوبت جهڙنا naubat jhaṛ- nā, v. n. To be sounded the naubat. نوبت خانه naubat-ḵẖāna, A guard-house. A. P. نوبتي naubat-ī, s. m. He who beats the نوبت naubat (as explained at signif. 5. above).

نکپڙي nak-puṛī S̱. s. f. (dakh.) Nostril.

نانک nānak H n. prop. Name of a faḳīr, founder of the sect of Sikhs. نانک پنتهي يا شاهي يا نانک متا nānak-panthī, or shāhī, or nānak- matā, s. m. A Sikh, or follower of Nānak.

نودها nūdhā S̱. (see نودهہ) s. A sort of tobacco.

نگالي nigāli S̱. (निगाल A horseʼs throat or neck) s. f. A small ḥuḳḳa snake, the wooden pipe of a ḥuḳḳa snake.

نٿوا naṭuwā S̱. or naṭuʼā or naṭwā, s. m. Ajuggler, rope-dancer, mime, actor, &c. See نٿ naṭ.

نفور nufūr A (from نفر) s. 1. Fleeing. 2. Excel- ling (in any thing). 3. Swelling (of the skin). ¶ nafūr, adj. Fleeing from, abhorring.

ناٴيکه nāʼeka S̱. s. f. (dakh.) See نايکا nāyikā, sign. 2.
