قل ḳul : قل ḳul A s. m. Reading of the sūra or chapter of the ḳurʼān, entitled ḳul huwa-l-lāh; which is done, by way of benediction, over fruits and sweetmeats presented to the guests, at the conclusion of the religious annual feasts, held in commemoration of ancestors and other relations. Hence, it comes to signify conclusion. قل هو چکا ḳul ho chukā, It is all over. قل هوالله پڙهنا ḳul huwa-l-lāh paṛhnā, To grumble (the bowels), to be hungry. (See under انتڙي).

قريه ḳarya A (Heb. from قرا Heb. To tend, to meet, to collect, q. d. a concourse of people) s. m. A village.

قابض ḳābiẓ A (part. act. from قبض) 1. adj. Seizing, holding, grasping, taking. 2. Astrin- gent. 3. s. m. A receiver, possessor. قابض الارواح ḳābiẓu-l-arwāḥ, The angel of death.

قرص ḳurṣ A s. m. An orb, a pellet, a ball of paste, the disk (of the sun or moon).

قرين ḳarīn A adj. Conjoined, contiguous, connected; equal, associate, friend. گردون قرين gar- dūn-ḳarīn, adj. Joined or reaching to the skies. نصرقرين nuṣrat-ḳarīn, adj. Victorious.
