قينچي ḳainchī U s. f. 1. Scissors. 2. An oblique or St. Andrewʼs cross. قينچي کرنا ḳainchī kar- nā, To prune trees, or cut the hair. قينچي باندهنا ḳainchī bāndhnā, To bind or fasten an un- skilful rider on his horse. ک

قافله ḳāfila A (from Chald. and Syr. To roll, fold, compress; q. d. a compact multitude) s. m. A body of travellers, a caravan. (Hence قفل To return from a journey: Willmet). قافله سالار ḳāfila-sālār, The leader, or chief of a ca- ravan. قافله باشي ḳāfila-bāshī, s. f. The chief- tainship of a caravan.

قشقه ḳashḳa A s. m. A mark made by the Hin- dūs on the forehead with sandal, &c.: see ؟يکا ṭīkā. قشقه دينا ḳashḳa denā, To put the ḳashḳa on the forehead.

قصدا ḳaṣdaṉ A adv. Voluntarily, intentionally, purposely, expressly.

قرابه ḳarāba A (from قربه ḳirba, which from قرب) s. m. A flagon.

قنات ḳanāt A s. f. The walls of a tent, or can- vass enclosure with which a sort of court yard is formed in camp, a screen.

ققنوس ḳuḳnūs P s. m. The phenix, a fabulous bird.
