قليل ḳalīl A (from قلّ Heb. ) adj. Little, small, scanty, moderate, a few, rare. قليل وکثير ḳalīl-o-kas̤īr, More or less, little or much.

قصبه ḳaṣba A (prop. ḳaṣaba, from قصب) s. m. A small town (particularly, when inhabited by decent people or families of rank).

قسر ḳasr A s. m. Violence, compulsion, retalia- tion, revenge.

قالب ḳālib A (part. act. of قلب) s. m. 1. A mould, model, form. 2. Bust, figure. 3. The body.

قنبر ḳumbur A s. A lark. ¶ ḳambar, Name of a man.

قانون ḳānūn G. (Gr. kanwn) s. m. 1. Rule, regula- tion, statute, canon, institute, system. 2. A dulcimer, or harp. قانونگو ḳānūn-go, s. m. An officer in each district, acquainted with its cus- toms, the nature of the tenures of the land, &c. قانونگوٴي ḳānūn-go-ī, s. f. The office of a ḳā- nūn-go, q. v.

قباله ḳabāla A (from قبل) s. m. A deed, writing, written agreement, contract, a bill of sale.

قادر ḳādir A (part. act. of قدر) adj. Potent, pow- erful, mighty, capable, skilful. القادر al-ḳādir, The Almighty.

قدير ḳadīr A adj. Powerful; an attribute of the Deity, Almighty.

قيل ḳīl A (from قول Heb. ) s. m. A word, speech, saying. قيل وقال ḳīl-o-ḳāl, s. f. Con- versation, confabulation, controversy, altercation, babble, clack.
