قبيح ḳabīḥ A (from قبح) adj. Vile, detestable, de- formed, bad, ugly, shameful, disgraceful.

قاضي ḳāẓī A (part. act. of قضا) s. m. A judge, a justice.

قالبي ḳālib-ī A. adj. Cast in a mould, made on a mould, moulded.

قضيه ḳaẓiya A (from قضي) s. m. 1. Declaration, proposition, determination. 2. History, nar- rative. 3. Death. 4. Natura fœminæ, vulva. 5. A syllogism (in logick). 6. (in Hind. and Pers.) A quarrel, wrangling, wrangle, conten- tion, broil, litigation, lawsuit, action at law. (Plur. قضايا). قضيه دلال ḳaẓiya-dallāl, One who excites quarrel, mischiefmaker. قضيه کرنا ḳaẓiya karnā, To quarrel, to wrangle. قضيه مول لينا ḳaẓiya mol lenā, To take on oneʼs self the quarrel of another, to interfere without cause in the disputes of others. A. قط 1. ḳat̤t̤, s. m. Cutting transversely, making a pen. 2. ḳat̤, adj. Sufficient (hence, فقط fa-ḳat̤, Only, merely, alone, &c.). قطزن ḳat̤t̤- zan, s. m. 1. A stamp. 2. A pin or peg on which pens are cut. قط لگانا ḳat̤t̤ lagānā, To mend a pen.

قصاص ḳiṣāṣ A (improp. ḳaṣāṣ from قصّ ḳaṣṣa Heb. To cut off) s. m. The law of retalia- tion. (This word is used in contradistinction to ديت diyat).

قلندر ḳalandar A s. m. 1. A kind of monk, who deserts the world, wife, friends, &c. and travels about with shaven head and beard. 2. The fly of a tent.

قـﮩ‍اقا ḳahāḳā A. s. m. See قـﮩقـﮩ‍ا ḳahḳaha.

قساوت ḳasāwat A (from قسا Heb. To be hard) s. f. Hardness of heart, grief, anguish, pain, chagrin.

قبايل ḳabāʼịl A s. m. plur. (of قبيله from قبل) 1. Family (wife and children, &c.). 2. Tribes.

قنات ḳanāt A s. f. The walls of a tent, or can- vass enclosure with which a sort of court yard is formed in camp, a screen.
