قضات ḳuẓāt A s. plur. (of قاضي) Judges, jus- tices. ¶ ḳaẓʼat (from قضئي ḳaẓiʼa, To rot, to spoil) s. f. Vice, disgrace, stain.

قندل ḳandil A. s. (dakh.) See قنديل ḳandīl.

قرولي ḳaraulī T. (for قراولي) s. f. 1. A piquet, grand guard. 2. Hunting.

قايم ḳāʼịm A (part. act. of قوم Heb. ) 1. adj. Standing, erect, perpendicular. 2. Firm, fixed, constant, stable, durable, lasting, continuing. 3. Attentive, persevering. قايم النار ḳāʼịmu-n-nār, Fixed quicksilver (i. e. fixed by fire). قايم مزاج ḳāʼịm-mizāj, Of a settled temper, constant. قايم مقام ḳāʼịm-maḳām, A viceroy, lieutenant, vicegerent, representative, locum tenens, deputy, successour, assignee.

قتيل ḳatīl A part. (of قتل) Killed, murdered. A. P. قحبگي ḳaḥba-gī (comp. of قحبه and Pers. particle گي) s. f. Whoredom, fornication.

قاب ḳāb A (Heb. ) 1. s. f. A large dish used for serving rice, &c. in at a meal, or for kneading dough in, &c. 2. s. m. The distance be- tween the part where a bow is grasped by the hand and its extremities. قاب قوسين ḳāb-ḳau- sain, The distance of two bows, or rather of two bows from the part grasped by the hand to the extremities.

قايزي ḳāʼịz-ī A. s. f. A bridle used whilst cleaning a horse, a bit.

قسر ḳasr A s. m. Violence, compulsion, retalia- tion, revenge.

قيس ḳais A n. prop. Name of a celebrated Ara- bian lover.

قصابه ḳaṣāba A s. m. A handkerchief tied round the head (worn by women, principally).
