قصف ḳaṣf A (Heb. To boil up, to foam, to rage) s. m. 1. The wind breaking, dashing to pieces (a ship). 2. Blowing with a loud noise (wind), thundering. ¶ ḳaṣif, adj. Weak, broken, split.

قاش ḳāsh T s. f. m. 1. The eyebrow; (hence) 2. A bit, a piece, a slice. زين کا قاش zīn kā ḳāsh, The bow or pommel of a saddle.

قرعه ḳurʼaﻌ A (from قرع Heb. To split, to tear, to break, to knock) s. m. 1. A lot (es- pecially, one cast in the manner of the Arabs, by shooting arrows). 2. A wager, wagering, drawing lots, seeking to learn oneʼs fortune by opening a book, &c.

قرب ḳurb A (Heb. ) s. m. Propinquity, proximity, nearness, vicinity, adjacency; kin- dred, relationship.

قميص ḳamīṣ A s. m. A shirt. (Hence, Fr. Che- mise, It. Camicia, Port. Camisa, Hind. and Beng. kamij).

قادر ḳādir A (part. act. of قدر) adj. Potent, pow- erful, mighty, capable, skilful. القادر al-ḳādir, The Almighty.

قلزم ḳulzum A s. m. 1. A sea. 2. n. prop. The red sea. A.P. قلعچه ḳilʼaﻌ-cha (dimin. of قلعه) s. m. A re- doubt.

قصد ḳaṣd A s. m. Intention, design, aim, object, desire, wish, inclination, purpose, project, at- tempt, conspiracy. قصد کرنا ḳaṣd karnā, To design, intend, project, propose to oneʼs self,

قشعريره ḳushaﻌrīra A s. Horrour, hair standing on end.

قصاٴي ḳaṣāʼi A. (for قصاب) 1. s. m. A butcher. 2. adj. Cruel, hardhearted.
