غلطه g̠ẖalt̤a P. (see گلتا galtā) s. m. 1. A leathern sheath over a scabbard. 2. A thick sort of cloth.

غلامي g̠ẖulām-ī A. s. f. Service, slavery.

غسال g̠ẖassāl A (adj. superl. of غسل) s. m. One whose business it is to wash the bodies of the dead.

غاريقون g̠ẖārīḳūn G. s. m. Agarick. (Gr. *agarikon).

غوث g̠ẖaus̤ A s. m. A title of Muhammadan saints, whose ardour of devotion, according to vulgar tradition, is such, that in the act of wor- ship their head and limbs fall asunder.

غم g̠ẖam A (properly g̠ẖamm) s. m. Grief, sor- row, concern. غم کهـانا g̠ẖam-khānā, 1. To grieve, to mourn. 2. To have patience. غم آلوده g̠ẖam- ālūda, adj. Grieved. غم خوار g̠ẖam-ḵẖẉār, Devouring sorrow, i. e. 1. adj. Afflicted, sad. 2. Condoling, condoler, pitying. 3. An intimate friend, a comforter. غمخوارک g̠ẖam-ḵẖẉārak, s. A heron. غمخواري g̠ẖam-ḵẖẉār-ī, s. f. 1.

غل g̠ẖill A s. m. Hatred, malice, perfidy, fraud, trick, envy. غل وغش g̠ẖill-o-g̠ẖish, s. f. Apprehension, objection, fraud, deceit. بي غل و غش be g̠ẖill-o-g̠ẖish, Without hesitation, frankly, boldly.

غور g̠ẖaur A s. f. Reflection, consideration, de- liberation, meditation, deep thought. غورکرنا g̠ẖaur karnā, To consider, reflect, to investi- gate, to fathom by consideration or investigation. غور پرداخت g̠ẖaur-pardāḵẖt, or غوروپرداخت g̠ẖaur-o-pardāḵẖt, s. f. Attendance on, atten- tion to. ¶ g̠ẖaur, n. prop. A country or pro- vince in Arabia.

غليان g̠ẖalayān A s. m. Boiling over, ebullition, effervescence, excess.
