غم g̠ẖam A (properly g̠ẖamm) s. m. Grief, sor- row, concern. غم کهـانا g̠ẖam-khānā, 1. To grieve, to mourn. 2. To have patience. غم آلوده g̠ẖam- ālūda, adj. Grieved. غم خوار g̠ẖam-ḵẖẉār, Devouring sorrow, i. e. 1. adj. Afflicted, sad. 2. Condoling, condoler, pitying. 3. An intimate friend, a comforter. غمخوارک g̠ẖam-ḵẖẉārak, s. A heron. غمخواري g̠ẖam-ḵẖẉār-ī, s. f. 1.

غ g̠ẖain called غين معجمه or غين منقوطه the nineteenth letter of the Arabic and twenty-second of the Persian alphabet, has no corre- sponding character in Sanskrit. It is one of the guttural letters; its sound being like that of the Northumberland r, or like a g uttered with compression deeply in the throat: and, it has

غلو g̠ẖulū A s. f. Excess; commotion, rebellion.

غرکانا g̠ẖurkānā H v. a. (dakh. i. q. ڐرانا) To menace, threaten, frighten.

غضنفر g̠ẖaẓanfar A s. m. A lion, a powerful man, a hero.

غواص g̠ẖauwāṣ A (adj. superl. of غوص) s. m. A diver (for pearls, &c.).

غراره g̠ẖarāra A (or prop. g̠ẖirāra) s. m. A large sack.

غربا g̠ẖurabā A s. plur. (of غريب) Strangers the poor.

غال g̠ẖāl P 1. part. in compos. (of غاليدن) Rolling or wallowing on the side. 2. The nest of the bee or wasp. 3. A burrow or hole made by wild animals to breed in: a cave made by shepherds to keep their flocks in at night in the desert.

غاير g̠ẖāʼịr A (part. act. of غور) adj. Descending, deep.
