ضر ẓarr A (Heb. Strait, adversity, hostility) s. m. Loss, damage, injury, distress.

ضروري ẓarūrī A adj. Necessary.

ضلع ẓilﻌ A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. A side, part. 2. A district, a division. 3. A column (in the page of a book). 4. (in Hindūstān) The art of speaking with double meaning, so that the chain of both senses be uninterrupted through the dis- course. (This is called in Persian and Arabic تلازم کلام).

ضوا ẓiwā A s. f. Light, splendour, brilliancy, resplendence.
