A series, line, row, &c. شترکينه shutur-kīna, adj. Bearing malice (the camel being remarkable for doing so). شترگام shutur- gām, A camel-step. شترگاؤ shutur-gāw, s. The camelopard. شترمرغ shutur-murg̠ẖ, s. m. An ostrich. شترنال shutur-nāl, s. f. A small gun carried on a camel.

شاهنشاه shāhanshāh P s. m. King of kings, an emperour, a title adopted by the old kings of Persia. شاهنشاه فلک shāhanshāh-i-falak, s. m. The sun.

شعار shiʼāﻌr A (from شعر Heb. ) s. m. 1. An under garment. 2. Mark, signal, sign. 3. Habit, custom, method, manner: (much used in compos. as) جادوشعار jādū-shiʼāﻌr, Magical.

شاباش shābāsh P (contract. of شادباش) interj. Bravo! excellent! hey! be glad!

شکيبا shikeb-ā P adj. Patient.

شلڐي shilḍī H adj. (dakh.) Mad, ill-tempered.

شگفته shugufta P or shigufta (rather شکفته shikuf- ta, q. v.) part. pass. (of شگفتن) Expanded, blooming, blown (as a flower). شگفته خاطري shugufta-ḵẖāt̤ir-ī, s. f. Blooming or expansion of mind. شگفته هونا shugufta honā, 1. To be blown (a flower), to bloom. 2. To be delighted.

شرمگيني sharm-gīn-ī P s. f. Bashfulness, shame.

شيعي shiyaʼiﻌ A s. A follower of the sect of aﻌlī: see شيعه (Pers. plur. شيعيان).
