شيبان shībān P adj. 1. Mixed or struck together. 2. Trembling.

شر sharr A s. f. Wickedness, depravity, malig- nancy, evil.

شوريده shorīda P part. pass. (of شوريدن) 1. Dis- turbed, mad, desperately in love. 2. Faint, dejected. شوريده حال shorīda-ḥāl, adj. Mad, &c. شوريده خاطر shorīda-ḵẖāt̤ir, adj. Dejected, melancholy.

شک shakk A s. m. f. Doubt, suspense, hesita- tion, uncertainty. ¶ shikk, s. (in the Kāmūs thus explained, الحُلّةُ الّتِي تُلّبَسُ ظُہوُرُ اُلِسّيَتَينِ) The covering with which the backs of the two extremities of the bow are covered.

شہباز shah-bāz P s. A larger kind of falcon, a royal falcon. P.S̱. شہبالا shah-bālā (comp. of Pers. شه and Sans. बाल Child) s. m. The companion of a bride- groom.

شطاح shat̤t̤āḥ A adj. (superl. of شطح) Meretri- cious, lascivious, obscene. See شتاه.

شگوفه shugūfa P or shigūfa, or (in Hind.) shagū- fa, s. m. A flower, a bud. شگوفه لانا shugūfa lānā, 1. To bud, to put forth young shoots. 2. To produce something new and wonderful.

شاهوا shāh-wā P adj. Princely, royal, worthy of a king.

شق shaḳḳ A (Heb. To run about) s. m. 1. Trouble, labour, suspense. 2. Dawn of day. 3. A fissure, crack, rent, cleft. شق القمر shaḳḳu-l-ḳamar, Splitting of the moon. شق هونا shaḳḳ honā, To be torn, to be split, rent, &c. ¶ shiḳḳ, s. f. The half of a thing, the side of a mountain, a brother, a friend, difficulty.
