زکاة zakāt A (from زکا) s. f. Alms, a portion of a Musalmānʼs property given in charity agreeably to the rules laid down in the ḳurʼān.

Conceited, too vain of self. زياده سري ziyāda-sar-ī, s. f. Self-conceit, the having too high an opinion of self. زياده طلب ziyāda- t̤alab, Extortioner. زياده طلبي ziyāda-t̤alab-ī, s. f. Seeking more or too much, ambition, covetuousness, extortion, imposition. زياده کرنا ziyāda karnā, 1. To augment, to increase. 2. (met.) To take away the dinner and tablecloth. زياده هونا ziyāda honā, To exceed, to surpass.

زخمي zaḵẖm-ī P adj. Wounded; slain.

زخود رفته zi-ḵẖụd-rafta P adj. See ازخود رفته az ḵẖụd rafta, under از az.

زدني zadan-ī P (from زدن To strike) adj. Fit or deserving to be stricken, killed, &c.

زينه zīna P s. m. A ladder, stairs, steps.

زري zar-ī P (from زر) s. f. Any thing woven with gold thread. زري باف zarī-bāf, A gold- lace worker.
