رکاب rikāb A (from رکب) s. f. 1. A stirrup. 2. Equipage, train. رکابدار rikāb-dār, A compa- nion, a stirrup-holder. رکاب دوال rikāb-doʼāl, A stirrup-leather.

رانجهن rānjhan S̱. (रंजन) s. m. A sweet- heart: Leander, the lover of Hero (who is called in Hindī Hīr).

رانڐ rānḍ रंडा S̱. s. f. 1. A widow. رانڐ کا سانڐ rānḍ kā sānḍ, Son of a widow, a spoilt child. 2. A woman.

رخ ruḵẖ P s. m. 1. The cheek. 2. The castle at chess. 3. Face, point, side, quarter. رخ پهيرنا يا بدلنا ruḵẖ-pherna or -badalna, 1. To be inattentive. 2. To reject. 3. To turn away from. 4. To be angry, to be displeased. رخ دينا ruḵẖ denā, To familiarize. رخ رکهنا ruḵẖ rakhnā, To continue friendship, to maintain friendly intercourse. رخ کرنا ruḵẖ karnā, To turn the face (towards), to proceed (towards); to attend to, to accede to.

ريحان rīhān A s. m. An odoriferous plant, sweet basil. (Plur. رياحين). تخم ريحان tuḵẖm-i-rīḥān, s. m. The seed of Ocymum pilosum.

رو rū P s. m. 1. Face, surface. 2. Sake. 3. Cause, reason. روپوش rū-posh, adj. Hiding the face; concealed, being externally one thing and internally another. روپوشي rū-posh-ī, s. f. Concealment, &c. رودار rū-dār, s. m. A man of rank and dignity. روداري rū-dār-ī, s. f. 1. Rank, dignity. 2. Flattery, complaisance. رودينا rū denā, To attend to, to regard. روسفيد rū-sufaid, adj. Disgraced, cri- minal, sinner, unfortunate. روسياهي rū-siyāh-ī, s. f. Disgrace, dishonour, criminal conduct.

رنگين rangīn P (from رنگ) adj. Coloured, paint- ed; figurative, fine, showy, flowery, gaudy, various. رنگين ادا rangīn-adā, Of elegant man- ners. رنگين اداٴي rangīn-adā-ī, s. f. Elegance of manners.

رخشندگي raḵẖshandagī P (from رخشيدن) s. f. Flash, lightning, refulgence.
