روهو rohū रोहित S̱. s. f. The name of a fish. (Cyprinus denticulatus: Buch.).

رسالت risālat A (from رسل) s. f. Mission, divine mission. رسالت پناه risālat-panāh, Asylum of prophecy, i. e. Muḥammad.

رطل rat̤l A s. m. 1. A pound (consisting of twelve ounces). 2. A cup of wine.

راوي rāwī A (part. act. of روي) s. m. An historian, the author of a fable, romance, fiction, &c. nar- rator, relater. (Plur. راويين).

رکهوانا rakhwānā S̱. (caus. of رکهنا rakhnā, q. v.) v. a. To cause to keep, place, &c. See رکهانا rakhānā. رکهوا لينا rakhwā lenā, To take in charge.

روکڙيا rokaṛ-iyā S̱. (from روکڙ) s. m. A cash-keeper, a treasurer.

روپيه rūpiya S̱. (from روپا) s. m. A coin so called. The Calcutta Sicca Rupee is worth two shil- lings, and the silver of it is better than English standard silver by 2 3/4 pence the ounce. By the regulations of Government passed in May 1793, it should weigh 179 2/3 grains (Troy wt.). (The inflect. of the sing. and the plur. nom. is ge- nerally made روپيي rūpiye, rụpiye, rụpaʼe or رپي rupai or روپي rụpai).

رفته رفته rafta rafta P adv. Going, in the act of going, by degrees, gradually, in process of time.

رمال rammāl A (adj. sup. from رمل) s. m. A soothsayer, a fortuneteller, prophet, conjurer.

رعنا raﻌnā A (from رعن To be relaxed or languid. Heb. To be green, to flourish) adj. 1. Moving gracefully. 2. Beautiful, lovely, grace- ful, delicate.
