خواص ḵẖawāṣṣ A s. plur. (of خاصّ or خاصّه) 1. Attendants, domesticks. 2. Grandees, ministers of state, people of quality or distinct from the vulgar, gentry. 3. Properties, qualities, attri- butes. 4. A page or a female attendant on the great. 5. A favourite. خواص وعوام ḵẖawāṣṣ o aﻌwāmm, Nobles and plebeians.

خلد ḵẖuld A s. m. Eternity, paradise.

خو ḵẖo P or ḵẖū, s. f. Habit, custom, disposition, nature. خوگر يا پذير يا گرفته ḵẖo-gar or -pazīr or -girifta, adj. Accustomed, habituated. خوڐالنا ḵẖo ḍālnā, To habituate, to adopt a habit, to introduce a custom, to accustom.

خرگاه ḵẖargāh P s. f. 1. A tent, pavilion, taber- nacle. 2. The royal tent, court or palace.

خلق ḵẖulḳ A s. m. Nature, quality, good dis- position, civility, politeness. (Plur. اخلاق).

خبر ḵẖabar A s. f. News, information, intelli- gence, advice, rumours, report, fame, account, care, notice. خبربسنت کي پوچهني ḵẖabar basant kī pūchhnī, expresses extreme ignorance or negligence. خبرخضري ḵẖabar-i-ḵẖiẓr-ī, Re- port, sudden news, guessing what is to happen. (خضر Ḵẖiẓr was a prophet, skilled in divina- tion; and hence, when from certain symptoms the publick guess at the intentions of govern- ment, &c. intelligence of such intentions, &c. is called خبرخضري). خبر دار ḵẖabar-dār, 1. adj. Careful, cautious, taking care, on (oneʼs) guard. 2. Informed, acquainted. 3. s. m. An informer, advertiser, a spy, a scout. 4. interj. Have a care! خبردارکرنا ḵẖabar-dār karnā, To put on (oneʼs) guard, to caution, to alarm. خبردارهونا ḵẖabar-dār honā, To be on (oneʼs) guard, to take care. خبر داري ḵẖabar-dār-ī, s. f. 1. Caution, care, taking care, carefulness. 2. Informing, getting information. خبر دهنده ḵẖabar-dihanda, adj. Intelligence-giving. خبر رکهنا ḵẖabar rakhnā, v. n. خنده ḵẖanda P s. m. 1. Laughter, a laugh. 2. A laughing-stock. خنده رو ḵẖanda-rū, adj. Of a smiling countenance, cheerful. خنده روي ḵẖanda-rū-ī, s. f. Cheerfulness. خنده زنان ḵẖanda-zanāṅ, Setting up a laugh, laughing.
