حساب ḥisāb A (from حسب) s. m. Computa- tion, calculation, reckoning, accounts, account. حساب پاک کرنا ḥisāb pāk karnā, To clear accounts. حساب پاک هونا ḥisāb pāk honā, To be cleared or settled (accounts). حساب دان ḥisāb-dān, s. m. An arithmetician. حساب رکهنا ḥisāb rakhnā, To keep account of, to register. حساب رفع کرنا ḥisāb rafﻌ karnā, To settle ac- counts. حساب کتاب ḥisāb kitāb, s. m. Ac- counts. حساب کرنا ḥisāb karnā, To calculate. حساب لينا ḥisab lenā, To take an account. حساب نويس ḥisāb nawīs, s. m. An accountant.

حيص بيص ḥaiṣ baiṣ A (حيص To escape, to re- treat, and بيص Adversity, calamity, confusion) s. f. Perplexity, hesitation, suspense, a per- plexed business, dilemma.

حشاشه ḥushāsha A (from حشّ) s. m. The remains of life, last breathings of a dying man.

حکايات ḥikāyāt A s. plur. of حکايت q. v.

حامله ḥāmila A (from حمل) adj. f. Pregnant. حامله هونا ḥāmila honā, To conceive, to be preg- nant.

حشو ḥasho A (from حشا) s. m. 1. Stuffing a pil- low, cushion, bed, &c. also, whatever it may be stuffed with. 2. People of the meanest condition. 3. Small camels. حشومنـﮩ‍ا ḥasho min- hā, 1. Subtraction, deduction. 2. The quantity deducted.

حاسد ḥāsid A (from حسد) 1. adj. Envious. 2. s. m. An enemy. (Pers. plur. حاسدان).

حربا ḥirbā A s. m. A chameleon.

حيله ḥīla A (Heb. ) s. m. Stratagem, deceit, artifice, pretence, trick, wile. حيله باز ḥīla-bāz or حيله گر ḥīla-gar, adj. Artful, insidious, wily, deceitful. حيله بازي ḥīla-bāz-ī, or حيله گري ḥīla- gar-ī, s. f. Artfulness, stratagem, trick, wiliness. حيله ساز ḥīla-sāz, adj. Preparing deceit, deceit- ful, artful. حيله سازي ḥīla-sāz-ī, s. f. Prepara- tion of deceit, artifice, chicane.
