حسام ḥusām A (from حسم) s. f. A sharp sword.

حسان ḥussān A or ḥassān, adj. Very good, most beautiful. ¶ ḥisān, plur. of حسان ḥussān, q. v.

حميل ḥamīl A (from حمل) s. m. 1. A son of a whore, a bastard. 2. A surety. 3. Herbs, sticks, &c. carried down by the stream.

حباب ḥubāb A (or ḥabāb), s. m. A bubble. حباب اٿهنا ḥubāb uṭhnā, To bubble.

حسب ḥasab A (Heb. He computed, es- timated) s. m. 1. Pedigree, nobility. 2. Num- ber, computation. 3. Quantity, measure, pro- portion, value. 4. Way, mode, manner. 5. Religion. حسب ونسب ḥasab-o-nasab, s. m. Pedigree, lineage.

حضور ḥuẓūr A (from حضر) s. m. Presence, appear- ance, attendance, court, government. حضورطلب ḥuẓūr-t̤alab, Being called to the presence, summoning attendance.

حيران ḥairān A (from حيرت) adj. Confounded, astonished, amazed, perplexed, disturbed, fa- tigued. حيران کرنا ḥairān karnā, To astonish, amaze, perplex, discompose, &c.

حلواٴي ḥalwā-ī A (from حلوا) s. m. A confec- tioner. A. H. حلواين ḥalwā-yan, s. f. A confectionerʼs wife.

حک ḥakk A s. m. Erasure, scratching out. حک کرنا ḥakk karnā, To erase. حک هونا ḥakk honā, To be erased.

حلاوت ḥalāwat A (from حلا Heb. To rub, to polish; and, thence, to be smooth or sweet. Ch. ) s. f. Sweetness.
