حلف ḥalf A s. An oath.

حافظه ḥāfiz̤a A s. m. Memory, the retentive faculty. (Called also قوت حافظه). A. P. حافظي ḥāfiz̤-ī, s. f. Retention of memory, good memory.

حفل ḥafl A s. m. An assembly, council, congre- gation.

حواس ḥawāss A s. m. plur. (of حاسه from حسّ) The senses. حواس باخته ḥawāss-bāḵẖta, adj. Out of oneʼs senses, beside oneʼs self, crazy. حواس خمسه ḥawāss-i-ḵẖamsa, The five senses.

حقير ḥaḳīr A (from حقارت) adj. 1. Contemptible. 2. Thin, lean. 3. Vile. حقيرجاننا ḥaḳīr jān- nā, To contemn, to despise. A.P. حقيري ḥaḳīr-ī, s. f. Contemptibleness.

حکيم ḥakīm A (from حکمت) adj. used substan- tively, A sage, a philosopher, a physician. A. P. حکيمانه ḥakīm-āna, adj. Physician-like, sage-like, philosophical.

حرير ḥarīr A (from حرّ) s. m. Silk-cloth.

حسابي ḥisāb-ī A. 1. adj. Proper, accountable, accurate, correct, just. 2. in compos. s. f. Reckoning, calculation.

حصه ḥiṣṣa A (from حصّ Heb. To cut, to di- vide) s. m. Share, part, lot, portion, division. حصه دار ḥiṣṣa-dār, A sharer. حصه داري ḥiṣṣa-dār-ī, s. f. Sharing, being entitled to a share. حصه رسد ḥiṣṣa-rasad, An equal share, a propor- tional part. حصه کرنا ḥiṣṣa karnā, To share, part, portion, apportion, divide, distribute.
