چاند chānd चन्द्र S̱. s. m. 1. The moon. 2. The crown of the head. 3. A white spot in the forehead of cattle, and many other things which are moon-like. 4. Name of an ornament. 5. A month. 6. A target (to shoot at). چاندچهپانا chānd chhipānā, To change as the moon. چاندرات chānd-rāt, End of the month. چاند تارا chānd-tārā, A robe made of flowering muslin, &c. چاندمارنا chānd mārnā, To fire at a mark. چاندني کهيت کيا chānd ne khet kiyā, The moon has risen.

چـﮩبچه chah-bachcha P (چه for چاه A well, and بچه A child) s. m. A vat, a cistern.

چيل chīl चिल्ल S̱. s. f. A kite. (Falco chee- la: Lath.) چيل جهپٿا مارنا يا کرنا chīl jha- pāṭṭā mārnā or karnā, To snatch.

چهانـﮩـ chhāṅh S̱. (छाया) s. f. 1. Shade, sha- dow. 2. The reflection of any object in a mirror, &c. (Plur. چهاٴين chhāʼeṅ). چهانـﮩـ بانـﮩـ chhāṅh-bāṅh, s. f. Auspices. S̱.H. چهان هارا chhāṅ-hārā, adj. Umbrageous.

چرچر charchar H s. m. 1. Prating, chattering. 2. An imitative sound.
