تعقل taʼaﻌḳḳul A (inf. v. of عقل) s. m. 1. Un- derstanding, perceiving. 2. Informing.

قاقله ḳāḳula A s. m. Cardamums.

قل ḳul A s. m. Reading of the sūra or chapter of the ḳurʼān, entitled ḳul huwa-l-lāh; which is done, by way of benediction, over fruits and sweetmeats presented to the guests, at the conclusion of the religious annual feasts, held in commemoration of ancestors and other relations. Hence, it comes to signify conclusion. قل هو چکا ḳul ho chukā, It is all over. قل هوالله پڙهنا ḳul huwa-l-lāh paṛhnā, To grumble (the bowels), to be hungry. (See under انتڙي).

قلاب ḳullāb A s. m. 1. A hook. 2. The hood put on a hawk to blind him. 3. Drawing and relaxing the string of a bow repeatedly before discharging the arrow.

قلابه ḳulāba A (from فلب To turn) s. m. A sta- ple, hinge, link, hook, hasp.

قلبه ḳulba A s. m. A plough. قلبه راني ḳulba- rānī, s. f. Ploughing, driving the plough.

قلتين ḳullatain A s. m. 1. A warm bath; (hence) 2. adj. (a cup, &c.) which is in common use by many: Mīr Ḥasan says, ند يجو وه پياله جو هو قلتين na-dījo wuh pyāla jo ho ḳullatain, Give me not that cup which is hackneyed among the multitude. 3. A common prostitute.

قلزم ḳulzum A s. m. 1. A sea. 2. n. prop. The red sea. A.P. قلعچه ḳilʼaﻌ-cha (dimin. of قلعه) s. m. A re- doubt.

قلفي ḳulf-ī A. (corrupt. for قفلي ḳufl-ī, Shut or locked) s. f. 1. A small ḥuḳḳa snake. 2. A cup with a cover (peculiarly, in which ice is moulded).

قلقل ḳulḳul A s. f. m. The noise made by water in the neck of a bottle when pouring out, gug- gling. ¶ ḳilḳil, A plant producing a black odoriferous grain, (said to be) the pomegranate of the desert.

قلقله ḳulḳula A. s. m. A ḥuḳka.

قلمه ḳulma A s. m. Sausage, or any food stuffed into the intestines of animals, haggis, black pudding.

قلنج ḳulinj G. s. m. Colick. See قولنج.

قله ḳulla A s. m. The top (of a head or other thing), summit (of a mountain).

قلوب ḳulūb A s. plur. (of قلب) Hearts, &c.
