اصحاب aṣʼḥāb A s. plur. (of صاحب) Lords, mas- ters, grandees, companions, friends, apostles. (In composition the word signifies) Possessed of; as اصحاب علم aṣʼḥāb-i-iﻌlm, Learned men, &c.

افصح afṣaḥ A adj. compar. (of فصیح) Very elo- quent, speaking very correctly.

تصحيح taṣʼḥīḥ A (inf. ii. of صحّت) s. f. Rectifica- tion, correction, emendation, verifying, illustrating, attestation.

تصحيحه taṣʼḥīḥ-a A s. m. Muster. داغ تصحيحه dāg̠ẖ-i-taṣʼḥīḥa, The office in which the horses taken up for service are marked.

تصحيف taṣʼḥīf A (inf. ii. of صحف) s. f. 1. Making an errour in writing. 2. Writing. 3. Changing the diacritical points so as to alter the pronunciation and meaning of a word.

صحايف ṣāḥāʼịf A s. plur. (of صحيفه) Books, leaves, pages.

صحب ṣaḥb A s. plur. (of صاحب) Companions, &c.

صحبت ṣuḥbat A s. f. 1. Companionship, society. 2. An assembly, a fair. 3. Coition, cohabi- tation. 4. Discourse. صحبت برار ṣuḥbat-bar- ār, An acquaintance. صحبت براري ṣuḥbat-bar- ār-ī, Acquaintance. صحبت داري ṣuḥbat-dār-ī, s. f. Keeping company with, associating, ac- quaintance. A. P. صحبتي ṣuḥbat-ī, s. m. Companion, comrade.

صحت ṣiḥḥat A (from صحّ Heb. and Chald. To be pure, clear, shining, sound, entire, healthy)

صحرا ṣaḥrā A s. m. A desert, a plain. صحراگرد ṣaḥrā-gard, Wandering or travelling through deserts. صحرا نشين ṣaḥrā-nishīn, s. m. A her- mit, an inhabitant of the desert. صحرا نورد ṣaḥ- rā-naward, Wanderer of the desert. صحرا نوردي ṣaḥrā-naward-ī, s. f. Wandering in the desert or forest.

صحراٴي ṣaḥrā-ī A adj. Of the desert, wild.
