آٿار ās̤ār A s. m. plur. (of اٿر) Signs, marks, traces, impressions, vestiges, effects; histories, tradi- tions, memorable events; the traditions of Mu- ḥammad.

اظہر az̤ʼhar A adj. compar. (of ظاهر) Very clear, more evident. اظہر من الشمس az̤ʼharu mina-sh- shamsi, Clearer than the sun.

اشاره ishāra A s. m. (inf. iv. of شور) Sign, wink, signal, hint, allusion. اسم اشاره ism-i-ishāra, A demonstrative pronoun. اشاره کرنا ishāra karnā, To beckon, make sign or signal, to hint.

اترنا utarnā S̱. (उत्तरण from उत् and r. तृ Cross over) v. n. To descend, to alight, to halt, bait, disembark, land, dismount, to subside, to de- crease, to pass over, to cross, to go off, to fall off, to decay, to fade, to flag, to be freed from debt, to become insipid, to flatten, to fall in value or in dignity.

ايفا īfā A (inf. iv. of وفا) s. f. Performing (a promise, &c.), performance, paying, satisfying, fulfilling.

اسفندیار isfandiyār P n. prop. The son of کشتاسب kishtāsb of the first dynasty of Persian kings.

اوبٿ au-baṭ S̱. or ūbaṭ (perhaps, from अव q. v. and वाट Way, or for اوگهٿ aughaṭ, q. v.) adj. Impassable, steep, inaccessible, devious.

ادن अदिन a-din S s. m. An unlucky day.

ايمه aima A. s. m. (for aʼịmma, plur. of امام but used to denote) Land given as a reward or fa- vour by the king at a very low rent, a fief. (When no rent is paid, the land is called لااخراج lā ḵẖirāj). Charity lands. ايمه دار aima-dār, One who holds land in ايمه aima, a feoffee.
