اختصاص iḵẖtiṣāṣ A (inf. viii. of خصّ) s. m. Ap- propriation, peculiarity.

اسده अशुद्ध अ and शुद्ध Pure, correct a-suddh S. adj. Incorrect, impure, inaccurate, mistaken.

اپجاؤ upjāʼū S̱. adj. Fertile.

آمدرفت āmad raft P s. f. Coming and going, ingress and egress, intercourse.

آبا ābā A s. plur. (of ابو) Fathers.

اجي ajī H An interjection to call or bespeak at- tention. (In Bengal, it is used to an inferiour or in cases of great intimacy only; but, in the western provinces, it is often addressed to a su- periour as a term of respect). Holla! Good sir! Hear me, sir!

انگشت نما angusht numā P One who is pointed

انجاما an-jāmā S̱. (अन् priv. and जन्म Birth) adj. Barren (land) in which nothing will grow.

اه uh P interj. Oh! Hah!

اشٿانگ अष्टांग अष्ट Eight, and अंग Mem- ber ash̤ṭāng S. Eight parts of man, viz. the hands, feet, thighs, breast, eyes, head, words and mind. اشٿانگ پرنام ash̤ṭāng-praṇām, s. m. Prostration, in salutation or adoration, so as to touch the ground with those eight parts.
