هستا hastā S̱. (हस्त) s. m. Name of the 13th mansion of the moon. (Corvus).

هار hār H (in compos.) means the performer of any act, and corresponds frequently to the English terminations er or ing; as, بہارآٴي نه ديکهن هارآيا انارآيا نه چاکهن هارآيا Bahār āʼī na dekhan-hār āyā; anār āyā, na chākhan-hār āyā. The spring is arrived, but no one is come to behold it; the pomegranates are ready, but there is no one to taste them. P. S. هار hār, 1. s. m. (s. हार) A necklace of pearls, &c. a wreath, a chaplet (of flowers, worn as a necklace). 2. (for हारि) A flock (of cattle). 3. Pasturage. 4. s. f. Loss, for- feiture, discomfiture. 5. part. act. (from هارنا) Being overcome. هارماننا يا مان لينا hār-mānnā, or -mān lenā, To give up a dispute, to give up in despair, to acknowledge all lost. هارجيت hār jīt, Gambling, hazard. هار جيت کرنا hār jīt karnā, To gamble.

هاتهي hāthī हस्ती S̱. s. m. 1. An elephant. هاتهي دانت hāthī-dānt (हस्तिदन्त) Ele- phantʼs tooth, ivory. هاتهي وان hāthī-wān (हस्तिवाह) An elephant-driver. 2. The 13th mansion of the moon: see هستا hastā. 3. (In the Dakhan) A haircloth glove used in rub- bing down a horse (Qanoon-e-islam).

هول haul A s. m. Terrour, horrour. هول دل haul-dil, 1. Terrified. 2. Hypochondriack affection, melancholy. هول زده haul-zada, Ter- rified, aghast. هول ناک haul-nāk, Frightful, terrible, terrifick, dreadful, horrid, dismal, dreary. هولناکي haul-nāk-ī, s. f. Frightfulness, terrour, direness, dreadfulness.

هنگامه hangāma P s. m. 1. An assembly, a crowd. 2. Tumult, uproar, riot, sedition, disturbance, disorder. 3. Assault. هنگامه آرا hangāma-ārā, adj. Exciting tumult. هنگامه کرنا hangāma karnā, To raise a disturbance, to riot. هنگامه گير hangāma-gīr, adj. Tumultuous, &c.
