نثار nis̤ār A (from نثر) s. m. f. 1. Scattering, throwing, strewing. 2. Money which is thrown among the people upon festive occasions, do- native, sacrifice. نثار کرنا nis̤ār karnā, To scat- ter, strew, or throw (as a publick donative, &c.), to sacrifice. نثارهونا nis̤ār honā, To be sacrificed.

نخود nuḵẖụd P s. m. A kind of pulse. (Cicer arietinum). نخود آب nuḵẖụd-āb, A kind of food given after physick has been taken: it consists of pulse and meat boiled together for a long time.

نکبت nakbat A (from نکب) s. f. Adversity, ca- lamity, misfortune.

نونا nonā H 1. v. a. To tie the feet of a cow when milking. 2. s. m. A kind of custard-apple. (Annona reticulata).

نجسي nijassī S̱. (perhaps, for निर्यशस्वी) adj. (dakh.) Unfortunate: see منحوس manḥūs. A. P. نجسي najis-ī, s. (dakh.) Impurity, conta- mination (Harris).

نجهول ni-jhol S̱. (निर् prep. and r. दुल Throw up) adj. Steady, easy-paced, walking or run- ning smoothly without agitation. (Epithet of an elephant).
