نہايت nihāyat S̱. (from نہي) 1. s. f. The extreme, extremity, end, bound, limit, boundary. 2. Excess. 3. adj. Very much, extreme, exces- sive. 4. Remarkable. 5. adv. At the utmost, extremely, exceeding, very, at the end, at last.

نول nawal H 1. adj. Beautiful, rare. 2. s. m. Sapling.

نردهار निर्धार nirdhār S s. m. Settling or fixing with accuracy, ascertainment.

نرقل narḳal S̱. (corrupt. of نرکٿ narkaṭ, q. v.) s. m. A kind of reed of which mats are made.

نرجن निर्जन nir-jan S adj. Without a person or individual, desert, uninhabited.

ني ne S̱. A particle affixed to the name of the agent with a transitive verb in a past tense.

نبهاگي ni-bhāg-ī S̱. adj. Unfortunate.

نوح nūḥ Heb. n. prop. Noah. (Erroneously stated by Musalmān authors to be so called from his lamentations on account of the obsti- nacy of mankind who rejected his admonitions; but, really from Heb. To rest, to be com- forted or freed from pain. Gen. V. 29.).

نوماسا nau-mās-ā S̱. (from नव Nine, and मास Month) s. m. Name of a feast given in the ninth month of pregnancy.
