نواسه nawāsa P s. m. A grandson.

نالشي nālish-ī P adj. Complaining, a com- plainant, plaintiff.

نہارنا nihārnā निहारण S̱. v. a. To look at, to regard, to watch, to look after, to spy, to see.

نوروز nau roz P s. m. New yearʼs day according to the Persian calendar; being that on which the sun enters Aries. This is called عامه or general: and, the sixth of the same month is called خاصه or particular. Both are celebrated by feasts, the liberation of prisoners, &c.

نوسک nau-sik S̱. s. (dakh.) See نوسکهہ nau-sikh, under نو nau.

نادلي nādalī H (perhaps, for ناد علي q. v.) s. (dakh.) A stone having generally a verse or certain sentences of the ḳurʼān engraved on it, and worn as a charm round the necks of chil- dren. (Qanoon-e-islam).

نيرنگي nairang-ī P s. f. Magick, sorcery.

ناي nāʼe P s. A reed, a pipe, a flagelet, a flute, a fife.

نرني निर्णय nirṇai S adj. Fixed, established, certain, appointed. s. m. Ascertainment.

نبات nabāt P s. f. 1. Sugar. 2. Sweetmeats.
