نشست nishast P (from نشستن) s. f. Sitting. نشست برخاست nishast-barḵẖāst, s. f. Man- ners, good breeding, etiquette, politeness. نشست گاه nishast-gāh, s. f. A place where people meet to sit and talk, sitting-room.

نخره naḵẖra P s. m. Trick, artifice, joke, wag- gery, coquetry, deceit, sham, pretence. نخراتلا naḵẖrā-tillā, Coquetry, blan- dishments. نخره باز naḵẖra-bāz, Affected. نخره بازي naḵẖra-bāz-ī, s. f. Affectation, coquetry.

نزع nazﻌ A s. m. The last breath, the agonies of death, expiration.

نکهاد निषाद nikh̤ād S s. m. 1. The first of the seven musical notes. 2. Name of a Hindū in- feriour cast. See چنڐال chanḍāl.

نشور nushūr A (from نشر) s. m. Raising of the dead, the resurrection. A. P. نشوه nashwa, s. m. Inebriety, hilarity.

نر निर् nir S prep. Out, without (on the out- side), without (not having). The reverse of नि. As, निर्गंध nir-gandh, Scentless.

نلاهٿ nilāhaṭ S̱. (from नील) s. f. Blueness.

نرسنگا nar-singā नलशृंग S̱. s. m. A horn (mu- sical), a wind instrument. S. نرسنگهـ नरसिंह or नृसिंह nar-singh or nr̤i- singh, s. m. The name of the fourth Avatār or incarnation of Vish̤ṇu, which happened in the Satya-yuga, upon the following occasion. Hiranya-kasipu, an impious prince, was en- raged at his son Prahlād for worshipping the Almighty, and tried every means of destroying him, by poison, by throwing him into fire, into the ocean, &c. yet Prahlād lived. "If your God is present every where," says Hiranya- kasipu, "let him come from an alabaster pil- lar;" on which Nar-singha appeared, with the lower part of a man and the upper of a lion,

نردهکاري निरधिकारी nir-adhikārī S adj. Without right or title or authority.

نکهـ नख nakh S s. m. A finger or toe nail. نکهـ سکهـ nakh sikh or نکهـ سکهـ سي nakh sikh se, or نکهـ سي سکهـ تلک nakh se sikh talak, From top to toe, entirely, throughout, (lit.) from the (toe) nails to the hair on the crown of the head.
