لڙهيانا luṛhiyānā H v. a. To double hem a gar- ment.

لزج lazij A adj. Adhesive, clammy, viscous.

لوکٿي lūkṭī H s. f. 1. A wooden poker, or stake burnt at one end. 2. A fox.

للگنڐا lal-ganḍā P. S̱. (لال Red and گانڐ Anus) s. m. A monkey.

لنگي lungī P s. f. See لنگ lung, or it is a co- loured cloth worn as the lung, q. v.

لنبا lambā लंब S̱. adj. Long, tall.

ليساليس les-ā-les H (from ليسنا) s. m. Plastering.

لوکنا lauknā S̱. (r. लोक Shine) v. n. To shine, to glitter, to lighten, to flash.

لخت laḵẖt P s. m. A piece, bit, part, portion, some, a little, somewhat. لخت جگر laḵẖt-i-jigar, A piece of oneʼs liver (generally applied to a child); darling.

لوح lauḥ A (Heb. ) s. f. A plank, a table, a board (especially, on which any thing is written), a tablet. لوح محفوظ lauḥ-i-maḥfūz̤, The guarded table on which the destinies of mankind are written (according to the Muhammadans). لوح وقلم lauḥ-o-ḳalam, s. f. The tablet and pen on, and with, which the decrees of the deity are written.
