قلگي ḳalgī T. s. f. (dakh.) See کلغي kalg̠ẖī.

قلتين ḳullatain A s. m. 1. A warm bath; (hence) 2. adj. (a cup, &c.) which is in common use by many: Mīr Ḥasan says, ند يجو وه پياله جو هو قلتين na-dījo wuh pyāla jo ho ḳullatain, Give me not that cup which is hackneyed among the multitude. 3. A common prostitute.

قمقمه ḳumḳuma A (from قمقم To collect, to hold, to be plunged in water) 1. A jug, a pitcher; (hence, in Hind.) a vessel in which the red mixture is contained with which they play at the holī. 2. A round shade or lantern.

قلبي ḳalb-ī A adj. Cordial, hearty, of heart.

قلقل ḳulḳul A s. f. m. The noise made by water in the neck of a bottle when pouring out, gug- gling. ¶ ḳilḳil, A plant producing a black odoriferous grain, (said to be) the pomegranate of the desert.

قريه ḳarya A (Heb. from قرا Heb. To tend, to meet, to collect, q. d. a concourse of people) s. m. A village.

قاق ḳāḳ A adj. 1. Dry, lean, thin, feeble, gaunt. 2. Disproportionately tall.

قزل باشي ḳazal-bāshī T (comp. of t. قزل ḳizil, Red, and باش The head) s. m. A kind of Mug̠ẖal soldier. The ḳazal-bāshīs are consi- dered to be the descendants of the captives given to Shaikh Haidar by Tamerlane. They wore the red caps assumed by those captives as a mark of distinction, and are considered as the best troops of the Persian armies.

قضا ḳaẓā A (from قضي To decree, to determine: analog. to Heb. To cut) s. f. 1. Fate, des- tiny, decree (divine). 2. Death, fatality. 3. Praying at the appointed time. 4. Adminis- tration of justice, judicature, jurisdiction, man- date, judgment, decree. 5. Saying a prayer after the time appointed for it is passed. قضاو قدر ḳaẓā-o-ḳadr, s. f. Fate, predestination. قضاي حاجت ḳaẓā-e-ḥājat, Going to the ne- cessary. قضاي عمري ḳaẓā-e-uﻌmrī, Repeating the prayers to make up for having omitted prayers in the former part of oneʼs life. قضاکار

قال ḳāl A (Heb. ) s. m. 1. A word, a saying. 2. Loquaciousness. 3. Boasting, egotism. قال مارنا ḳāl mārnā, 1. To be very loquacious. 2. To rebuke, to reproach. قال مقال ḳāl maḳāl, s. m. Altercation, wrangling, confabulation.
