قنات ḳanāt A s. f. The walls of a tent, or can- vass enclosure with which a sort of court yard is formed in camp, a screen.

قولنج ḳūlinj G. or ḳūlanj, s. m. Colick.

قبيح ḳabīḥ A (from قبح) adj. Vile, detestable, de- formed, bad, ugly, shameful, disgraceful.

قنبر ḳumbur A s. A lark. ¶ ḳambar, Name of a man.

قاطبه ḳāt̤iba A adj. All.

قل ḳul A s. m. Reading of the sūra or chapter of the ḳurʼān, entitled ḳul huwa-l-lāh; which is done, by way of benediction, over fruits and sweetmeats presented to the guests, at the conclusion of the religious annual feasts, held in commemoration of ancestors and other relations. Hence, it comes to signify conclusion. قل هو چکا ḳul ho chukā, It is all over. قل هوالله پڙهنا ḳul huwa-l-lāh paṛhnā, To grumble (the bowels), to be hungry. (See under انتڙي).

قوام ḳawām A (from قوم Heb. ) s. m. Justice, equity. ¶ ḳiwām, That on which any thing rests, or in which it consists, essence, sirup.

قضايا ḳaẓāyā A s. plur. (of قضيه) Quarrels, &c.

قوج ḳoj T s. m. A ram.

قدير ḳadīr A adj. Powerful; an attribute of the Deity, Almighty.
