فاني fānī A (part. act. of فنا) adj. Frail, transi- tory, inconstant, perishable. جـﮩ‍ان فاني jahān-i-fānī, This transitory world.

فدوي fidwī A. (from فدا) adj. Devoted (your de- voted servant).

فرني firnī P s. f. A dish resembling hasty pud- ding, ground rice and milk.

فطرت fit̤rat A s. f. 1. Wisdom, sagacity, cun- ning. 2. Nature, creation, form. 3. Deceit, trick. 4. Alms given on the عيد الفطر īﻌdu-l-fit̤r. فطرت لڙانا fit̤rat laṛānā, v. a. (vulg.) To practise tricks or stratagems, to cheat, to shuffle.

فاقه fāḳa A (from فوق Heb. ) s. m. 1. Po- verty, necessity, want. 2. (Pers. and in Hindī) A fast, fasting (from want, not as a religious duty). فاقه کرنا fāḳa karnā, To fast. فاقه کش fāḳa-kash, One who fasts, a faster, famished. فاقه کشي fāḳa-kash-ī, s. f. Fasting, endurance of hunger. فاقه کهـينچنا fāḳa khainchnā, or فاقون مرنا fāḳoṅ marnā, v. n. To starve, to be famished, to die with hunger. فاقه مست fāḳa- mast, One who is starving but conceals his distress.

فراده furāda A plur. (of فرد) Alone, single, so litary.

فصاد faṣṣād A (adj. superl. of فصد) s. m. A sur- geon, phlebotomist.

فلسفي falsafī A s. m. A philosopher. See فيلسوف.

فاسقه fāsiḳa A s. f. (part. act. of فسق Heb. To distend, to divaricate, to quit the path of rectitude) A fornicator, an adulterer, or adultress, a sinner, a worthless fellow. adj. Impious.
