فسق fisḳ A (Heb. To divaricate) s. m. Adul- tery, obscenity, impudence, iniquity, sin, im- piety, falsehood.

فطر fat̤r A (Heb. and Chald. To break, to split) s. m. Splitting, creating, commencing. ¶ fit̤r, Breaking a fast; the festival held on breaking Lent, which is also called عيد الفطر.

فرد fard A (Heb. To separate, to divide) 1. s. f. A sheet (of paper), list, roll, verse, piece, fragment. 2. An individual. 3. adj. One, unique, incomparable. 4. Single. 5. Odd (number. Plur. فرديات or افراد).

فخري faḵẖr-ī A s. f. A kind of grape so called.

فخريه faḵẖr-īya A s. m. Ostentation, boasting.

فخر faḵẖr A s. m. 1. Glory, nobility, ornament, grace. 2. Boasting, egotism, pride, ostentation.

فرموده farmūda P part. pass. (of فرمودن) Or- dered, said; s. m. Order, command, precept.

فدا fidā A (Heb. To redeem) s. f. Sacrifice, consecration, redemption, devoting oneʼs self to save another, ransom, exchange, cartel. فداکرنا fidā karnā, To devote, to sacrifice. A. P. فدائي fidā-ī, s. One who willingly hazards life in an act or for any one; a lover, thief, murderer.

فرسا farsā P part. pres. (of فرسودن) in compos. Wearing, rubbing, worn, obliterating, oblite- rated.

فاليز fālez P (or pālez) s. f. A field of melons.
