غارت g̠ẖārat A s. (when compounded with a verb, this latter may be mas. or fem. agreeable to the gender of the object of the action) Rapine, plunder, devastation. غارت غول g̠ẖārat-g̠ẖol, 1. s. m. Sudden loss or destruction. 2. adj. Suddenly or unexpectedly lost. غارت کرنا g̠ẖā- rat karnā, To plunder, ravage, spoil. غارتگر g̠ẖārat-gar, A plunderer, an oppressor.

غليلا g̠ẖulelā P. s. m. A pellet.

غنم g̠ẖanam A or g̠ẖunm, s. Plundering.

غوط g̠ẖot̤ A. (from غوطه q. v.) s. m. Consideration. غوط مارنا g̠ẖot̤ mārnā, To disappear. غوط مين انا يا جا نا g̠ẖot̤ meṅ ānā or jānā, To faint.

غوث g̠ẖaus̤ A s. m. A title of Muhammadan saints, whose ardour of devotion, according to vulgar tradition, is such, that in the act of wor- ship their head and limbs fall asunder.

غليل g̠ẖulel P. s. f. A pellet-bow. غليل باز g̠ẖu- lel-bāz, s. m. A shooter with a pellet-bow. غليل بازي g̠ẖulel-bāz-ī, s. f. Shooting with a pellet-bow. غليلچي g̠ẖulel-chī, A shooter with a pellet-bow.

غفران g̠ẖufrān A (from غفر To cover, to forgive) s. m. Pardon, remission of sins. غفران پناه g̠ẖufrān-panāh, Asylum of pardon.

غٿ g̠ẖaṭ H s. m. 1. A troop, a throng, a crowd. 2. (dakh.) The sound or noise of a gulp or of swallowing a draught.

غلام g̠ẖulām A (Heb. from To be concealed) s. m. 1. A boy or youth (from birth till puberty; q. d. concealed in his fatherʼs house and not yet appearing in publick: Buxt.). 2. (from غلم g̠ẖalima, Coeundi cupidus fuit) A young man arrived at maturity. 3. (in Persian and Hindī) A slave. غلام پاره g̠ẖulām-pāra, Puerorum amoribus deditus. غلام گردش g̠ẖu- lām-gardish, s. m. A shed for servants to sit under. (Pers. plur. غلامان).
